Kate Middleton Shares Emotional Hug With Jessie J After Connecting Over Their ᴄᴀ:ɴᴄᴇʀ Journeys

Kate Middleton and Jessie J shared a deeply emotional moment on Wednesday night after bonding over their shared experiences with cancer.

At the Royal Variety Performance at London’s Royal Albert Hall, the Princess of Wales was photographed warmly embracing the 37-year-old pop star. Before the hug, the two women were seen chatting closely, smiling gently before leaning in to wrap their arms around each other in a heartfelt gesture.

Jessie J later revealed that the embrace came after a candid conversation about their health struggles.
“Mom to mom, who has just recently gone through cancer, I just wanted to give her a hug,” the singer told The Independent.

The “Bang Bang” star added that both she and the princess acknowledged how challenging it is to face cancer under public scrutiny.
“We agreed it’s something that is not easy to go through, especially in the public eye,” she said.

Earlier this summer, Jessie J shared that she had been diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer.
“Cancer sucks in any form, but I’m holding on to the word ‘early,’” she said in a June Instagram video.

She explained she would be undergoing breast surgery — joking, “It’s a very dramatic way to get a boob job… I’ll come back with massive tits and more music,” adding that she would still “get to keep [her] nipples.”
This year, she has undergone at least two intense surgical procedures as part of her treatment.

She also admitted she was struggling to emotionally process the diagnosis and simply needed “a hug.”

And on Wednesday night, Kate Middleton was there to give her exactly that.

The evening was especially meaningful for the princess, marking her first red-carpet appearance in two years. Kate, 43, had stepped away from public life after announcing her own cancer diagnosis in March 2024 and undergoing months of treatment.

Six months later, she completed chemotherapy and confirmed in June that she was officially in remission.

For the event, the princess stunned in a figure-hugging emerald velvet gown, while Prince William looked equally polished beside her in a classic velvet tuxedo.
