Prince William and Princess Kate send personal message to England team

The Prince and Princess of Wales have issued a personal message after England’s defeat against Spain at the Euros 2024.

The Prince and Princess of Wales have taken to social media to issue a personal message in response to England’s defeat against Spain last night.

The message, which is accompanied by a sweet picture of their two youngest children, read: “England, your teamwork, grit and determination were an inspiration to all of us, young and old. Congratulations to Spain. W & C.”

In the sweet image, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6, are both sporting personalised England shirts.

Leaving Kate, Charlotte and Louis in the UK, William travelled to Berlin to support the England team with the couple’s eldest son, 10-year-old Prince George.

Following the defeat last night, William sent his own personal message to the team. He wrote: ” This time it just wasn’t meant to be. We’re all still so proud of you. Onwards @England. W.”

The father-son duo witnessed Spain beat England by 2-1 in the European Championship in Berlin, Germany.

The pair were seen cheering on the Three Lions, as well as covering their faces after Spain’s second goal.

The Prince of Wales is president of the Football Association and previously attended the nail-biting Euro 2024 quarter-final match which saw England beat Switzerland on penalties and progress to the semi-finals.

Last month, William also attended England’s game against Denmark. This game resulted in a draw between the two teams.

On the same day William and George went to Germany to cheer on England, Princess Kate and Princess Charlotte stepped out at the men’s final at Wimbledom.

The mother-daughter duo were spotted taking their seats in the royal box alongside some familiar faces, as well as Kate’s sister Pippa.

Kate received a round of applause as she took to her seat, with the royal, who was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year, looking delighted to be in attendance.
