Meghan Markle on verge of tears as she shares emotional new video

Meghan Markle has shared an emotional new video on Instagram following the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles. Nearly brought to tears, the Duchess of Sussex spoke about a young girl affected by the disaster and her efforts to help.

“I was just told that something arrived that I had been waiting for,” Meghan begins, addressing the camera.

She recounts meeting a woman and her 15-year-old daughter in Altadena, California, while visiting with Prince Harry. Their home had been destroyed in the fires, leaving them with nothing.

Meghan shares: “Her mum told me that when they returned to see their home for the first time—right as we were meeting them—all she was hoping to find was the t-shirt from the Billie Eilish concert she had just gone to. She had left it in the washing machine or dryer.”

Tragically, their home, along with everything inside—including the washing machine and dryer—had been reduced to ashes.

Determined to help, Meghan sprang into action. “I thought of everyone I knew and sent a voice note, saying, ‘Please, can someone get this to Billie Eilish?’”

Panning the camera around, Meghan reveals signed merchandise and a lunch box from the singer. “You guys, I don’t even know what all this stuff means, but it’s signed for her,” she says, visibly touched.

She ends the video by expressing gratitude: “Huge thank you, Billie Eilish. This is going to mean so much to her. And to Adam Levine and Behati, you guys helped make this happen. To everyone stepping up in big and small ways to support those affected—thank you. I’m about to email her mum now, but I just wanted to share this moment with you all.”

Supporting Wildfire Relief Efforts

Since the California wildfires, Harry and Meghan have actively supported affected communities. Through their Archewell Foundation, they’ve contributed to relief efforts by donating clothing, children’s items, and essential supplies.

The couple also released a statement on their website, urging support: “In the last few days, wildfires in Southern California have raged through neighborhoods, devastating families, homes, schools, medical care centers, and so much more—impacting tens of thousands of people from all walks of life.”

Living in Montecito, California, Harry and Meghan have shared links to various charities on their Sussex.com website and encouraged people to “open their homes” to evacuees.
