Prince Harry appears to make another savage dig at Donald Trump in speech during surprise visit

Prince Harry has once again appeared to take a veiled swipe at President Donald Trump during a recent public appearance.

The Duke of Sussex has never been one to hide his opinions on the controversial president, and his latest remarks seem to continue that pattern. Earlier this month, he made a subtle but pointed comment at the Invictus Games, and now, he has followed up with yet another statement that many believe is directed at Trump.

For those who may have missed the initial exchange, Trump recently made a scathing remark about Meghan Markle when discussing Prince Harry’s immigration status in the U.S. The former president was asked about calls to deport the Duke of Sussex after The Heritage Foundation questioned whether he had lied on his visa application about past drug use—a reference to Harry’s 2023 memoir, Spare, in which he admitted to taking cocaine, cannabis, and psychedelic mushrooms.

Speaking to the New York Post, Trump dismissed the idea, saying, “I’ll leave him alone. He’s got enough problems with his wife. She’s terrible.”

In what many saw as a response, Harry spoke at Vancouver’s BC Stadium during the Invictus Games, making a pointed remark:

“At this moment, when there is no shortage of crises, no absence of uncertainty, no lack of weak moral character in the world, the values you embody, the way you carry yourselves – not only at the Invictus Games, but each and every day – your courage, your resilience, your humanity, illuminate a path forward for us all.”

The phrase “weak moral character” caught the attention of many, who speculated that it was a thinly veiled reference to Trump. Now, Harry seems to have reinforced that sentiment during another speech.

Speaking at the Upfront Summit in Los Angeles on Thursday (27 February), the Duke of Sussex revealed that he had spent the past five years investing in businesses that serve communities and promote positive change. While discussing leadership, he appeared to take another indirect swipe at Trump and his administration, warning about the consequences of abandoning basic morals in the pursuit of power.

He stated:

“Now this would be a great time to talk about how a sickness in leadership across sectors—from politics to tech—can have a detrimental effect on millions, if not billions, of people.

“When service to others is sacrificed for personal gain. When basic morals and empathy are abandoned in favor of power and control. But I’m not gonna get into all that now!”

His remarks come in the wake of significant changes made under Trump’s leadership. In the first six weeks of his second term, over 20,000 federal workers, including military veterans, lost their jobs, and foreign aid payments were frozen. Additionally, Trump shut down all federal offices dedicated to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs, which were designed to support women, workers with disabilities, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community in the job market.

Meanwhile, despite past tensions, King Charles has extended an “unprecedented” second invitation for Trump to visit the UK for a state visit—something rarely offered to second-term presidents. Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer formally presented the invitation during a recent meeting in the Oval Office.

With tensions between Harry and Trump continuing to simmer, it remains to be seen whether the Duke of Sussex will have more to say in the future.
