Meghan Markle is facing accusations of editing a photo of herself and Prince Harry in a recent Instagram post.

On Monday, 19 May, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex marked their seventh wedding anniversary. The couple originally got married in 2018 at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.

Now, seven years later, Meghan and Harry are living in Montecito, California, after stepping back from their royal duties in 2020.

To celebrate the occasion, Meghan posted on Instagram, sharing a mood board filled with photos and handwritten notes reflecting their “love story.”

Meghan shared a collage packed with family photos and captioned it: “Seven years of marriage. A lifetime of stories.”

She wrapped up the heartfelt message with a note of gratitude to her supporters, writing:
“Thanks to all of you (whether by our side, or from afar) who have loved and supported us throughout our love story – we appreciate you.
Happy anniversary!”

A handwritten note, visible in the top right corner of the collage, seems to read:
“… take this longing I have carried, and this thirst as death, and take me into the only, light you are.
But I want the fire, just as long as you stand by me.
And when dark, finds me in the.. I will find you, I will find you…”

Another highlight from the collage is a central card that reads simply: “Our love story.”

While browsing through the photos Meghan shared, some fans pointed out one image in particular, suggesting it had been edited.

The picture shows Meghan and Harry touching noses while facing each other. However, one fan claimed it wasn’t a genuine photo, but rather a combination of two separate shots taken during their 2018 trip to New Zealand.

During that visit, the couple received a traditional welcome on the grounds of Government House.

During the welcome ceremony, they took part in the hongi — a traditional Māori greeting where two people touch foreheads and noses.

“She’s wearing the same earrings from the royal tour!” a Twitter user pointed out.

“I even recreated the same photo — and I’m not even good at Photoshop!”

Many people believe Meghan may have taken images of both her and Harry and merged their faces into one photo.

One commenter wrote, “This one looks fake to me. Isn’t it from when she met the Māori and greeted them the traditional way?”

Another added, “If you’re going to make fake photos in Photoshop… at least do it properly.”
