A royal commentator says Prince Harry shared some revealing thoughts about his future, his kids, and life in the U.S. in a recent Instagram post.
As Prince Harry and Meghan Markle marked their seventh wedding anniversary on May 19, royal expert Jennie Bond reflected on how she sees the Sussexes’ year shaping up in 2025.
While Ms. Bond acknowledges that “crises come and go” for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, she believes their love remains strong through it all. However, she also wonders if Prince Harry might have truly “walked away” from the royal family for good.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Challenging 2025
In an interview with the Mirror, Ms. Bond commented on the Sussexes’ rocky months. Earlier this year, Meghan faced criticism over her Netflix cooking show, With Love, Meghan.
At the same time, Prince Harry lost his court appeal regarding the reduction of his publicly funded security. On top of that, royal family tensions resurfaced following his explosive BBC interview, where he spoke about his father King Charles’ mortality.
“Of course, some members of my family will never forgive me for writing a book. But I would love reconciliation with my family,” Harry said earlier this month.
He added, “There’s no point in continuing to fight anymore. Life is precious. I don’t know how much longer my father has.
“He won’t speak to me because of this security issue. It would be nice to reconcile.”
Prince Harry’s Instagram post with his children
A few days later, Meghan shared a black-and-white photo on Instagram showing Prince Harry walking in the garden of their California home. He’s holding hands with their son, Archie, while carrying their daughter, Lilibet, on his shoulders, walking away from the camera.
Ms. Bond believes this powerful image reflects how Prince Harry feels about his current situation. She sees it as a sign that he’s “walking away from his old life once and for all.”
She added, “I think the recent post of Harry walking into the distance with his two children suggested that he’s walking away from his old life once and for all. And I very much doubt that there will be anniversary wishes winging their way from the UK to California.”
However, Ms. Bond also thinks the challenges they’ve faced may have brought the couple even closer together.
Will Prince Harry stay in America?
Ms Bond added, “They have certainly isolated themselves from their respective families so, having burned so many bridges, they must rely ever more heavily on one another. That is quite a weight of responsibility to bear, but I’m sure they both feel that it makes it even more imperative to work hard at their marriage and make it a success.”
She also reflected on whether ongoing tensions with family members take up much of the Sussexes’ attention.
“They have their love, their children, their fabulous home, the freedom they craved, and Meghan Markle’s growing list of new projects to keep them busy,” Ms Bond said.
