Prince Louis, the youngest child of Prince William and Princess Catherine, is quickly becoming a crowd favorite, thanks to his playful behavior during public appearances.
Most recently, during the annual military parade marking King Charles’ birthday, the 7-year-old prince caught attention while watching a military jet flypast from a balcony alongside his family.
While the rest of the royals looked skyward, Louis turned his gaze toward the crowds and began enthusiastically waving. His older brother, Prince George—perhaps more aware of royal protocol—gently pulled on Louis’ arm to rein him in.
Online Commentary Highlights Sibling Contrast
Social media users quickly picked up on the sweet moment, focusing on the clear difference in demeanor between the two brothers.
“You hardly ever see George waving at a crowd,” one commenter noted. Another added, “We love his carefree happy personality.”
Louis’ habit of waving during official events isn’t new. He first charmed royal watchers with his enthusiastic waves during a 2019 air show.
Another commenter wrote, “Louis is so gorgeous but I think they have their hands full,” prompting a response from someone else: “Louis is the Prince Harry of the family.”
Regardless of the truth in these comparisons, this wasn’t Louis’ only spotlight moment of the day.
As the balcony appearance wrapped up and Kate began guiding the children back inside, Louis turned back for one final, enthusiastic wave to the crowd.
A Moment of Mischief Between Brothers
Earlier in the event, Louis and George were also spotted riding in a horse-drawn carriage. The camera zoomed in just as the Ascot Landau passed by rows of guards in red uniforms.
At one point, George covered his face with his hands—perhaps to avoid the cameras. Louis quickly mimicked the gesture. Realizing what was happening, George looked over, catching Louis in the act. The two brothers then shared a laugh, momentarily shedding royal formality.
Fans Draw Parallels to Prince Harry
The moment sparked plenty of reaction online, with many fans enjoying seeing the young prince behave like any other child his age.
“This is so so cool, to see this 7-year-old enjoying these outings, being a normal little boy, even George had a laugh,” one user posted. Another said, “Lovely photo of them both—looks so natural too.”
The personality differences between the brothers sparked more discussion. One fan noted, “Methinks young Louis is good for his more serious big Bro.”
Unsurprisingly, Prince Harry’s name came up again, with someone writing, “His Uncle Harry is a bit of a joker—William too serious.”
An Aviation Fan in the Making
Prince Louis also turned heads with a playful exchange involving his aunt, Duchess Sophie. While on the balcony, he made a face at her. She leaned in, away from the public eye, seemingly to playfully respond. The move earned her the title “the fun aunt” from some observers.
But royal watchers are also noting a deeper side to Louis. Body language expert Judi James spoke to the Daily Mail, pointing out how engaged the young prince seemed with the military aircraft flyover.
“There was a seismic change in royal body language signals on the balcony with Louis suddenly morphing into the most visible and active royal but for all the right reasons,” she explained.
“Instead of his usual playful activities, he appeared totally focused on the aircraft, only turning to his dad to show off his plane spotting skills, with the affirming nods from William suggesting his younger son is becoming a bit of an aircraft expert.”
