Prince William issued ‘warning’ over removing Archie and Lilibet’s royal titles

Ever since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped back from royal life, people have been wondering: could their kids, Archie and Lilibet, lose their royal titles when Prince William becomes king?

Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams says… probably not.

Technically Possible, But Not Worth the Drama

Sure, the King has the power to remove HRH styles—no need for Parliament. Archie and Lilibet qualified for theirs under old royal rules once Charles became monarch. But William? He’s not likely to stir the pot.

“He’s a smart diplomat,” Fitzwilliams told Royal Insider. “He’ll want to avoid unnecessary backlash—especially after what happened in Denmark when Queen Margrethe stripped titles from her grandkids. That was messy.”

“The Kids Aren’t to Blame”

Another big reason? Public sympathy. Archie and Lilibet didn’t cause the royal rift. Stripping their titles could easily backfire, making William look spiteful. That’s not a look the future King wants.

And What About Harry & Meghan?

Some people still push for the Sussexes to lose their titles—but royal experts say it’s a dead issue.

Historian Hugo Vickers recently told Page Six, “William won’t do it. It would just seem vindictive.”

A palace source agreed: “Those titles don’t matter anymore. No one sees them as royal at this point.”

Meghan would ‘divorce’ Harry if they lost their titles

In true tabloid fashion, Meghan’s estranged half-brother, Thomas Markle Jr., threw in his own hot take. Speaking to TalkTV, he claimed Meghan would “leave Harry” if they ever lost their titles.

Wild? Yes. But it shows just how much the public still speculates over the Sussexes—even years after their royal exit.

Bottom Line

William is playing it safe. No drama, no headline-grabbing decisions. Archie and Lilibet keep their titles. Harry and Meghan do too. And honestly? Most people have already moved on.
