Donald Trump complained ‘I’ve had enough’ during State Visit as he made his feelings clear to King Charles

Donald Trump admitted he had “had enough” in a lighthearted but exasperated moment during his State Visit to the UK earlier this month.

While at Windsor Castle, the former US President reportedly shared his frustrations with King Charles, even outlining alternative plans he might prefer.

Mr Trump, joined by First Lady Melania Trump, senior cabinet officials, and leading tech executives, travelled to Britain for a two-day State Visit — an unprecedented second such honor for a US President.

A Lavish Royal Welcome

The First Couple were treated to the full grandeur of Windsor Castle, including a tour of the grounds and a lavish State Banquet on September 17.

In his address at the dinner, Trump described the occasion as “truly one of the highest honours of my life.”

But behind the scenes, he is believed to have shown signs of weariness after a day packed with historic sights and ceremonial events.

“I’ve Seen Enough Beautiful Things”

Speaking with tech leaders during the trip, Mr Trump joked:
“I’ve had a great time, I’ve seen so many beautiful things. I was taken round Windsor Castle and seen some beautiful things. I’ve been taken round Chequers and seen some beautiful things. I have seen every memorial and they’re beautiful but now I’ve had enough.”

He is even said to have repeated the quip to King Charles, assuring him that if the monarch visited the US, he would be spared endless tours.

“You know what? I’m going to treat you to a state dinner, you can come to the US and I’m not going to drag you round the Lincoln Memorial. You can just have dinner and then go to bed,” Trump joked.

A Successful State Visit

Despite his complaints, the trip was hailed as a major success. A senior White House official remarked: “It was a really fantastic trip. The British know how to do this perfectly.”

They also hinted at a reciprocal invitation, adding: “They set the bar high for their trip to see us.”

Trump’s Fascination With Windsor Castle

Of all the “beautiful sights” he was shown, Windsor Castle left a strong impression. When told it had been built in 990, Trump mused: “Trying to figure that one out. 990? So it’s like, you know, it’s like really old.”

He also expressed admiration for William the Conqueror, saying: “That’s the coolest name I’ve ever heard.” Amused, he even proposed a new nickname for King Charles, though the monarch quickly dismissed the idea.
