Prince William becoming king ‘may not be too far in future’ as Charles’ cancer is ‘stark reminder’

Previous reports suggested that Prince Harry might take part in select public engagements in the UK, with hopes of bringing him and King Charles together more often.

However, royal insiders quickly shut down the idea, stressing that Harry cannot return as a “half-in, half-out” royal.

One palace source reportedly told the Mail on Sunday: “Whoever is behind them seems to have mistaken a brief tea and a slice of cake for the Treaty of Versailles.”

Alleged Details of the Meeting Leak

Over the weekend, The Sun claimed to have fresh details of Harry’s recent meeting with the King. The report suggested that Harry was taken aback by how “distinctly formal” the encounter was and that he presented his father with a framed photograph of his children, Archie and Lilibet.

Harry’s Team Pushes Back

Prince Harry’s spokesperson swiftly dismissed the report. A statement read: “Recent reporting of The Duke’s view of the tone of the meeting, is categorically false.

“The quotes attributed to him are pure invention fed, one can only assume, by sources intent on sabotaging any reconciliation between father and son. Presumably, those same sources have also chosen to disclose that gifts were exchanged.”

The spokesman confirmed that while a framed photo was indeed given, it featured only the children, not Harry and Meghan.

Palace Reaction

According to The Telegraph, a Buckingham Palace source described Harry’s “sabotage” claim as “counterproductive.” The insider added: “It’s very sad, especially because everyone has been working hard behind the scenes to make the private relationship work.”

Aides emphasized that all parties involved — including King Charles himself — want to see father and son on better terms.

Concerns Over Archie and Lilibet’s Future

Meanwhile, royal commentator Hugo Vickers voiced concern for Harry’s children, warning they could face difficulties as they grow up without a strong relationship with their grandfather.

Speaking on The Sun’s Royal Exclusive show, he said: “I worry about the children because there’s going to come a point when they’re going to say, why haven’t I met my grandfather on either side?

“And so he’s storing up a lot of, you know, emotional problems for them, I think.”
