Meghan Markle and Prince Harry unexpectedly host Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz amid family ‘feud’

Earlier this week in the U.S., there was reportedly a “Great British reunion” when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex invited Brooklyn Beckham and his wife Nicola Peltz over for dinner.

That said, it seems the gathering hasn’t been entirely welcomed by the two famous families involved.

Both Brooklyn, 26, and Prince Harry, 40, share quite a bit in common—they were born in the UK but later moved to America to build their lives with their American-born partners.

Brooklyn, who’s a model, photographer, and part-time chef, is the son of football star David Beckham and Spice Girl Victoria Beckham. He married actress Nicola, 30, in 2022.

The pair reportedly divide their time between London and Los Angeles.

Prince Harry stepped down from his royal responsibilities in 2020, two years after marrying Meghan Markle, the Suits actress, at St. George’s Chapel. Since then, the couple relocated to Montecito, California, where they are raising their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

People Magazine reported that Brooklyn and Nicola joined a small dinner party at the Sussexes’ home.

An insider told the outlet, “While it was an intimate gathering, there were several other guests, including VIPs and film executives. Brooklyn and Nicola really enjoyed themselves and found Harry and Meghan to be especially kind, caring, and generous.”

However, The Sun revealed that this star-studded event reportedly stirred some friction in the Beckham family, as it came shortly after David Beckham’s 50th birthday party.

Brooklyn and Nicola apparently chose not to attend David’s celebration, which led to some criticism from fans.

In the comments on David’s Instagram post celebrating his 50th birthday, someone remarked, “Too bad Brooklyn and his pretty wife did not attend Dad’s 50th!”

Another comment asked, “Where is Brooklyn Peltz?”

A source told the news outlet that the dinner invitation came as a surprise but was “gratefully received” by the couple, who are said to be feeling “pretty battle-wounded.” They added, “Harry and Meghan were very empathetic and very kind to them both.”

The source also mentioned that The Duke was “fully aware of the situation” and had offered Brooklyn his “unwavering support as someone who has been through similar.”

In a recent BBC interview, Prince Harry spoke about his desire for “a reconciliation with my family,” revealing that his father, King Charles III, “won’t speak” to him because of their dispute over his security arrangements, an appeal he lost.

At the same time, Meghan and Nicole had a “bit of a ‘deep n’ meaningful’” conversation about how they are seen in the media as “home-wreckers,” according to the source.

Regarding Meghan’s attitude towards Nicole, the insider said, “Meghan showed a lot of sympathy and mentioned they shared common ground.

They didn’t meet because of recent news or headlines; it was an honest and welcome coincidence.”

PEOPLE’s insider confirmed this, adding, “Brooklyn and Nicola were invited well before David’s multiple global birthday events, so the timing was purely coincidental.”
