Meghan Markle wants King Charles’ assurance she and Harry will retain royal title when William takes over

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Meghan Markle is working to make sure that she and her husband, Prince Harry, won’t lose their royal titles once Prince William becomes king.

With King Charles fighting cancer, the former actress is reportedly seeking a meeting with him to secure their future. This comes as Prince William is said to not want Meghan and Harry to retain their Duke and Duchess of Sussex titles, according to RadarOnline.com.

The report also mentioned that Meghan is asking her father-in-law for a promise that they will always remain the Sussexes, even after his passing.

A source revealed, “Harry and Meghan are growing more concerned about their fading influence in America, and the news that Prince William is pushing for them to lose their royal titles has sent them into a panic.”

“Their titles are their last bit of support in the U.S., and losing them would be a huge blow. Meghan relies on that royal status to sell her As Ever products,” the source added.

The insider also shared how the couple would be impacted if they lost their royal titles.

Meghan Markle keen to meet King Charles as soon as possible

The tipster shared, “For Harry, losing him would be devastating – and for Meghan, it would bring more embarrassment, along with harm to her image and ability to make money.”

“The growing pressure is really taking a toll on her, causing a lot of stress. She’s hoping to meet with the king to get some reassurance that she and Harry will keep their titles after he passes,” the source continued.

Meghan and Harry moved from the UK to the US in 2020 to live a financially independent life. Their decision to step down from royal duties was famously called “Megxit,” and it led to numerous controversies and accusations.

Prince Harry’s charity controversy adds more burden on him and Meghan

Prince Harry and Meghan are facing more trouble due to a recent controversy involving their charity, Sentebale. The charity, which Harry co-founded with Prince Seeiso of Lesotho in 2006 to support children in Southern Africa, has been hit with accusations of bullying and racism, according to The Sun.

Additionally, Meghan has been accused of not getting along with Dr. Sophie Chandauka, the head of the charity.

It eventually led to the 40-year-old prince and Seeiso stepping down from their roles.

In their statement, they said, “It is devastating that the relationship between the charity’s trustees and the chair of the board broke down beyond repair, creating an untenable situation.”
