Prince Andrew ‘code name’ revealed in Virginia Giuffre’s posthumous memoir as she recalls ‘orgy’

Warning: This article contains discussion of suicide and sexual abuse that some readers may find distressing.

Virginia Giuffre’s posthumously released memoir has shed new light on the alleged sexual abuse she endured as a teenager, including fresh claims involving Prince Andrew — whom she says was referred to by a “code name.”

Giuffre, who died by suicide in April this year, was 38. Her memoir, Nobody’s Girl: A Memoir of Surviving Abuse and Fighting for Justice, was released on October 21 and includes her detailed recollections of encounters with the Duke of York and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Giuffre first accused Prince Andrew in 2019, claiming that the royal, now 65, had sex with her on three occasions when she was underage, after being introduced to him by Epstein. Months earlier, Epstein had been arrested on sex trafficking charges and later died in prison by suicide before facing trial.

In 2022, Giuffre and Andrew reached an out-of-court settlement following her 2021 civil suit, in which she was awarded an undisclosed sum. The Duke has consistently denied all allegations against him.

The scandal forced Andrew to give up his military titles, royal patronages, and his “His Royal Highness” title to Queen Elizabeth II. Just last week, ahead of Giuffre’s memoir release, he reportedly relinquished his remaining royal honours, including his title as the Duke of York.

In one passage of her memoir, Giuffre recounts what she describes as her third encounter with Andrew, which she believes took place on Epstein’s private island, Little Saint Jeff’s, in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

“I also know that it was not just the two of us this time — it was an orgy,” she wrote, recalling that Epstein, Andrew, “and approximately eight other young girls” took part.

Giuffre added that the women present were “under the age of eighteen” and spoke “little to no English.” She also referenced a 2015 sworn declaration in which she claimed that one of Epstein’s pilots had used a coded note to reference Andrew in flight logs.

“Since I gave that account, the pilot has said in a deposition that a coded notation (‘AP’) that he made on his flight log for July 4, 2001, referred to Prince Andrew,” she wrote. “He said that Epstein, the prince, another woman, and I flew from Saint Thomas that day back to Palm Beach.”

She continued, “It’s possible the orgy I remembered occurred in the days leading up to that flight, which would mean I was still seventeen. I’ll probably never know the date for certain. What I do know, because Epstein told me, is that Brunel, the French modelling agent who was in attendance, supplied the other girls who took part.”

Prince Andrew was first linked to Epstein in the 1990s and has denied ever having met Giuffre. His representatives have been contacted for comment.
