For many people. the routine of a standard nine-to-five job feels unavoidable. Yet some individuals live under very different circumstances. especially those who come from wealthy or well-known backgrounds.
One example often mentioned is Sarah Ferguson. the former wife of Prince Andrew. Reports have suggested that she once earned a remarkably high income while working only about twenty days a year.
Author Andrew Lownie says that the 66-year-old. widely recognized as “Fergie”. received a substantial six-figure payment for a short annual workload. According to his account shared in the Daily Express. she was paid around £268.000 (about $350.000) for acting as a spokesperson for the company World Online.

She was reportedly brought into the role in June 1999. with the arrangement negotiated by marketing executive Rob van der Linden on behalf of company founder Nina Brink. a friend of Sarah’s.
Beyond the financial compensation. she is said to have been offered a long list of additional benefits. Lownie notes on his Substack that these included access to the company’s private jet for travel within Europe. first-class flights elsewhere. luxury hotel stays with meals covered. limousine transport. an assistant. security. plus full professional styling and make-up support. The agreement also required strict confidentiality.
During that period. Lownie explains that Ferguson and Brink had become close because both faced similar pressures involving public image and media attention.
In other developments. Sarah lost the use of her courtesy title “Duchess of York” earlier in October and resumed her birth name. Sarah Ferguson. Her former husband. Prince Andrew. had his remaining titles and honours withdrawn on 6 November by King Charles III after renewed scrutiny surrounding his past association with Jeffrey Epstein.

Their daughters. Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie. keep their titles. as these are protected under the 1917 Letters Patent issued by King George V. Their positions in the line of succession also remain the same. with Andrew listed as eighth. Beatrice ninth. and Eugenie twelfth.
It has also been reported that Beatrice has recently taken on a new role within the family’s broader activities following the changes affecting her father.
