The Black Serum To Get Long, Black Hair

Fenugreek and hibiscus are two time-tested Ayurvedic herbs celebrated for their ability to transform hair health. Used for centuries in traditional beauty rituals, these natural ingredients are known to:

  • Stimulate hair growth
  • Reduce hair fall
  • Nourish the scalp
  • Strengthen hair from root to tip

Today, I’m excited to share two simple but effective DIY recipes you can make at home using these powerful ingredients.

DIY #1: The Black Serum

This herbal water-based serum is ideal for strengthening the scalp and reviving weak, thinning hair.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tbsp cloves
  • 2 dried hibiscus flowers
  • 1 tbsp kalonji (black seeds/Nigella sativa)
  • 1 tbsp fenugreek seeds
  • 2 tbsp dried rosemary
  • 7–8 curry leaves
  • 1 glass of water

Instructions:

  • Combine all ingredients in an iron pot (this helps deepen the color and enrich the nutrients).
  • Add 1 glass of water.
  • Boil the mixture for 5–7 minutes.
  • Allow it to cool completely.
  • Strain and pour into a spray bottle.

How to Use:

Spray directly onto the scalp and hair roots at night. Leave on overnight and wash off in the morning.
For best results, use 3–4 times per week.

DIY #2: Nourishing Hair Mask

This creamy, nutrient-packed mask restores shine, reduces breakage, and promotes healthy, voluminous hair.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tbsp fenugreek seeds
  • A handful of fresh hibiscus flowers (or dried petals if unavailable)
  • ½ cup buttermilk

Instructions:

  1. Soak fenugreek seeds in water overnight.
  2. In the morning, grind the soaked seeds and hibiscus flowers into a smooth paste.
  3. Add buttermilk and blend again until creamy.
  4. Apply generously to the scalp and hair.
  5. Leave on for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
  6. Rinse thoroughly with a mild, natural shampoo.
