“Why Does Her Stomach Look Like That?”: People Stunned by Meghan Markle’s New Video From Her Delivery Room

To mark her daughter Lilibet’s fourth birthday, Meghan Markle shared a personal moment with the world—an Instagram video showing her and Prince Harry dancing in a hospital room just before giving birth.

Set to “The Baby Momma Dance” by Starrkeisha, the lighthearted video features Meghan moving energetically while visibly pregnant. In her caption, Meghan explained that after traditional methods to induce labor failed, her medical team suggested movement. So, dancing became the next step—and Prince Harry joined in.

The video quickly went viral, racking up over 23 million views and becoming her second most-watched Instagram reel. It also included never-before-seen family photos of Meghan, Harry, Archie, and Lilibet.

While many fans found the video charming and empowering, not everyone reacted positively. Critics online questioned the authenticity of Meghan’s pregnancy, pointing to how actively she moved and the appearance of her baby bump. Some went so far as to suggest she used a surrogate, reviving conspiracy theories that have followed her in the past.

In response, former “Real Housewives of Potomac” star Candiace Dillard publicly defended Meghan. Dillard, who recently gave birth herself, dismissed the criticism as rooted in “misogynoir”—a term that describes the intersection of misogyny and racism faced by Black women. She noted that women in late pregnancy can still move, dance, and even work, and urged people to stop policing how mothers experience childbirth.

Despite the controversy, the video clearly struck a chord with many. It showed a rarely seen side of royal life—personal, unscripted, and joyful. For Meghan and Harry, it was also a celebration of family, resilience, and a moment they chose to reclaim on their own terms.
