During the memorial service for Jennifer Garner’s father, William Jack Garner, who passed away at 85 in April 2024, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner’s 15-year-old child, Seraphina Rose, introduced a new name.

While speaking at the event, which was streamed live on the Facebook page of a West Virginia church, their middle child began by saying, “Hello, my name is Fin Affleck,” before reciting a passage from Proverbs, Chapter 16, Verse 8: “Better is a little with righteousness, than a large income with injustice.”

Fin was dressed in a suit, white shirt, black tie, and sported a short haircut.

Back in February of last year, paparazzi caught a glimpse of Fin carrying a backpack with the name “Fin” stitched on it.

As expected, the gender reveal quickly grabbed public attention, sparking a flood of reactions.

“Ben Affleck’s young daughter just changed her name and is now identifying as trans. Jennifer Lopez’s daughter also recently came out as nonbinary,” wrote Chaya Raichik of Libs of TikTok on X. “2 IN 1 FAMILY! WHAT ARE THE CHANCES?!”

She continued, “Having an LGBTQ kid is trendy in Hollywood. It’s like having the latest designer bag.”

When Affleck tied the knot with Jennifer Lopez, their kids, Fin and Emme, quickly bonded and have been spotted together several times. Emme, who goes by gender-neutral pronouns, seems to share a close relationship with Fin.

During a surprise duet at the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation Blue Diamond Gala in June 2022, Lopez referred to her child, whom she shares with singer Mark Anthony, using the pronouns “them” and “they.”

Fin is just one of many celebrity kids who are embracing changes in their identities.
