“Enraged” Donald Trump criticized after making ‘envious’ comments about Barack Obama receiving the Nobel Peace Prize

Donald Trump blasted Barack Obama this week in a furious White House tirade for “doing nothing” to earn the Nobel Peace Prize he received in 2009.

The Republican president’s predecessor received the highest honor “for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples,” in case anyone needed a reminder.

More precisely, Obama was recognized for his proposal to remove American forces from Iraq, his appeal for new ties between the West and the Muslim world, and his vision of a future free of nuclear weapons.

However, it appears that Trump still objects to the organizers’ selection of Obama for the esteemed award nearly two decades later.

The 79-year-old criticized the 44th president’s accomplishments during a press conference held in the Oval Office yesterday (9 October), where he also talked about his own quest for the same award.

“He got it for doing nothing,” Trump spat of the former Democrat leader, specifically referencing the fact he was controlled the accolade just weeks into his term.

“Obama got a prize – he didn’t even know what – he got elected, and they gave it to Obama for doing absolutely nothing but destroying our country.”

His comments have, predictably, caused some social media users to take offense.

One critic commented: “You can hear the jealousy dripping through every word. Obama lives rent-free in his head, pays no utilities, and just redecorated the place.

“We’re 15 years out and Trump still can’t cope.”

Another said: “Donald Trump is the most needy, insecure man on the face of the planet.”

In his Oval Office rant, Trump gushed of his own achievements: “I’ve stopped eight wars, so that’s never happened before – but they’ll have to do what they do. Whatever they do is fine.

“I know this: I didn’t do it for that, I did it because I saved a lot of lives.”

Unfortunately for Trump, however, Venezuelan opposition leader and pro-democracy activist María Corina Machado has just won this year’s Nobel Peace Prize.
