Justin Bieber started crying when talking about wanting to ‘protect’ Billie Eilish from what he went through at a young age in the music industry

Justin Bieber got emotional quickly when talking about feeling protective of Billie Eilish.

During his Beats 1 interview for Apple Music, Bieber promoted his new album “Changes.” But when interviewer Zane Lowe asked him about his relationship with Eilish, who has been an outspoken Bieber fan since childhood, the 25-year-od started to cry.

“I don’t know how many opportunities I’m going to get,” Bieber told Lowe, becoming emotional. “We never know how many opportunities we’re going to get with anybody. I’m tearing up thinking about it, just with the Kobe situation, you know.”

“Yeah, I definitely feel protective of her,” Bieber added when asked if he feels protective of 18-year-old Eilish.

“It was hard for me being that young and being in the industry and not knowing where to turn and everyone telling me they loved me and you know, just turning their back on you in a second,” Bieber, who has recently been candid about depression, said. “I just kind of let her do her thing and if she ever needs me I’m going to be here for her.”

Eilish posted a clip from Bieber’s interview segment to her own Instagram and captioned it “stream changes.” The young star has shared childhood photos of her intense Bieber fandom and was starstruck to finally meet him at Coachella in 2019. The two later collaborated for a remix of her hit song “Bad Guy.”

“I just want to protect her. I don’t want her to lose it. I don’t want her to go through anything I went through,” Bieber said in his interview. “I don’t wish that upon anybody. So yeah, if she ever needs me, I’m just a call away.”
