He added that her presence at Royal Ascot, one of the most prestigious events in the royal calendar, further underscored this shift. “She was also offered a seat in the carriage procession down the course, another privilege denied her since her 1996 divorce,” Hardcastle revealed. However, Ferguson reportedly turned down the offer—possibly out of sensitivity to Andrew’s situation.

Unlike Ferguson, Prince Andrew has seen his royal privileges steadily eroded. Though he was allowed to attend a pre-racing lunch during Royal Ascot, he was barred from taking part in the racing events themselves.
