“It’s not a mouse, it’s not a frog, but an unknown creature” – that’s how animal rescuers from the Heart of the Forest center described the mysterious little black-furred animal they discovered. The center focuses on helping wild animals.

They shared photos of the creature on social media, and people online started guessing what it might be.

Theories started flying: maybe it’s a kitten, a baby squirrel, a bunny, a puppy, a ferret, or even a mink…

Some even joked it looked like a tiny teddy bear – or maybe an alien!

Animal activists later said the little one is a female, only 3-4 days old, and she had a few small wounds on her body.

And how was she found? A dog brought her in — carrying her gently in its mouth.

So, what’s the answer to the mystery?
She’s a newborn… house rabbit!
Interestingly, there are no known rabbit breeders in that area, so no one knows where the dog found her.

The Heart of the Forest team explained that wild rabbits are born with fur and open eyes, while domestic rabbits are born blind and hairless.
